Thursday afternoon Father Hijgenus Anuta dedicated the building for the Tucumcari Animal Hospital with Jean Corey, doctor of veterinary medicine.

The Tucumcari Animal Hospital was dedicated and blessed on Thursday by Father Hijgenus Anuta, left, while veternarian Jean Corey helps with the ceremony.
Corey thanked everyone for showing up to the ceremonies. Corey said that if it hadn't been for the volunteers a lot of the work would not be done yet. She said volunteers helped by cleaning the cages burned in an arson fire in May.
Through lots of donations, Corey said they were able to get this temporary building set up and ready for business.
Tom Anderson said that they have purchased all new equipment including new blood machine, x-ray machine and computers.
Anderson said he was thankful for all of the donations and support the community has shown the.
No arrests have been made in connection with the arson.
