Daughters of the American Revolution held their veterans services Sunday at the Elks Lodge. Guest speakers were retired Army Maj. Gen. Franklin Miles and retired Army Lt. Col. Lloyd Miles, both sons of former Gov. John Miles. A wreath will be placed by the DAR at Veterans Park this week.

Lloyd Miles thanked everyone for attending the services and said he was happy to see such a good turn out for the event.
Lee Ann Mitchell, chapter regent, said she was happy to see such a nice turn out of citizens for the services.
Mayor Amiel Curnutt greeted everyone.
DAR chapter member Gi Gi Parker said having the services inside because of the weather was great because those attending were able to sit down and be out of the wind.
The DAR will place a wreath at Veterans Park this week for everyone to see and enjoy.
