Serving the High Plains
In the spirit of honoring Nancy Taylor's legacy, the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico invites organizations, businesses and individuals to help "Stuff Nancy's Truck."
For 10 days, beginning today, the truck will be traveling to various locations in Clovis and Portales, where individuals may drop off non-perishable food items. Organizations and businesses throughout Clovis and Portales will have drop-off sites as well.
Taylor, who died Aug. 2 at age 70, was executive director of the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico, for 29 years.
"I can't think of any better way to honor her memory than to continue feeding the hungry people of Eastern New Mexico," said Dianna Hernandez, marketing specialist of the Food Bank of Eastern New Mexico.
In her honor, the food bank's truck is now known as known as "Nancy's Truck."
The nonprofit Food Bank continues to serve residents across the region, assisting close to 200 agencies and schools distributing more than one million pounds of food annually, according to the previous reports.
