Rattlers look to bounce back

Ferguson said the (5-1) Rattlers beat the Fort Sumner Foxes, 28-14 and the (5-0) Wolverines only beat the (3-3) Foxes by three (21-18).

Ferguson said the team is not focusing on the turnovers, which led to a 26-14 loss to the (2-4) Dexter Demons. He said the team is licking their wounds and healing from last weeks lost.

We have saved a little bit of stuff for the start of district that will add some dimension to our team.

"I told the team good teams learn from their mistakes and move on," Ferguson said. That is what we have to do learn and move on."

8 man

The (3-3) Logan Longhorns travel to Albuquerque Friday to take on the (2-3) Menaul Panthers.

"From what I have seen on film they are athletic and we will have to be ready to play," said Kenny Terry, Longhorns head coach.

Terry said last week the Longhorns played well against the Springer Red Devils. He said they were a good quality team with some younger players.

Terry said he was happy with how the team played and getting a much needed win.

6-Man

The (4-1) San Jon Coyotes are on the road for their third District 1 match up against the (5-1) Lake Arthur Panthers.

The Coyotes are (1-1) in district play after beating the (2-3) Clovis Christian Eagles 65-32.

"Against the Panthers we are going to have to do the same thing as last week, work on our defense and contain their running game," said Bobby Gomez, Coyotes head coach.
