County holding voter registration

A voter registration drive is being conducted by the Quay County Clerk and will continue through Oct. 9.

Anyone who will be 18 years of age before the general election Nov. 6 is eligible to register and vote.

Absentee voting by mail and in person will begin Oct. 9. Voters can request an application to vote by mail at this time by contacting the Quay County Clerk or by accessing the Quay County webpage and filling out the application on the county clerk link, print it and mail it.

County quorum may be at lecture

Two or more Quay County Commissioners may attend the Chamber of Commerce's Water Role in Tucumcari's Economic Future to be held at 6 p.m., Sept. 20, at Mesalands Community College, North American Wind Energy and Research Center lecture hall.

No action will be taken by commissioners.

School board will meet, seek input

The Tucumcari Public Schools Board of Education will have a work session 6 p.m. Monday at the Multipurpose Room of the Administration office, 2400 S. Eighth St.

The purpose of the work session will be to review the proposed Facilities Master Plan for the district, and to receive public input on the plan.
