New Mexico Selective Service Office seeking local board members

Residents of New Mexico are needed to represent the state, as Selective Service Local Board members.

A Selective Service Local Board is a group of five citizen volunteers whose mission, upon a draft, will be to decide who among the registrants in their community will receive deferments, postponements, or exemption from military service.

Local Board members are appointed by the Director of Selective Service in the name of the President, on recommendations made by the state governor.

If you are a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, not a military retiree, and eager to play an integral role in your community, then call the New Mexico Selective Service Office at 505) 620-9662.
