"We are excited to start off our season competing in the Eunice tournament," said Lady Rattlers head volleyball coach Lawrence Sena.

Sena said the team has been working hard to improve their communication on the floor,a problem that plagued them last season. He said he knows his seniors will be strong leaders and will encourage team play.

Sena said the team is excited to be hosting a tournament on Sept. 7-8 at the Snake Pit.

He said he looks forward to seeing area teams compete as well as bringing in teams from around the region.

"The girls are improving through this first week of practice," said Robert Young, Logan's new volleyball coach.

Young said he was the volleyball coach and boys track coach at Jal High School before coming to Logan.

Young said the team has only two seniors, though the younger players are stepping. He said he impressed with the seniors' leadership on the team.

Young said it is early and he will know more once they start to play, but he is looking forward to the season. He said it will be easier to see the areas that they need to improve upon once competition begins.
