I spent 30 minutes on Monday afternoon at the corner of Route 66 and Second Street, watching life pass in front of me.

QCS reporter Jerrene Bradley spent 30 minutes Tuesday morning at the corner of Route 66 and Second Street.
Here is what I saw:
- Customers at the First National Bank of New Mexico were pulling into the drive through making their deposits or withdrawals for the day.
- Several tourists had gone shopping at the Lowe's grocery store, bringing out a couple of bags of groceries.
- Employees of the grocery store were either going home or on break, one of whom had his bags of groceries with him. Another employee was in the parking lot gathering up the shopping carts that were left behind.
- Gayle Hampton Sr. was walking across the parking lot back to his vehicle, waiting on his wife to come out after shopping.
- Railroad workers traveling east on Route 66 in their work trucks were going home after their long day at work.
- Many customers were shopping at the grocery store after work, getting the things they needed for dinner and a lot of them doing their shopping for the rest of the week.
- Chester and Essie Bradford were sitting in their little pickup watching people going in and out of the grocery store, as they do on occasions. Hey, that's exactly what I'm doing.
