Students interested in pursuing a career in wind energy technology are invited to attend an 6 p.m. Wednesday information forum at the North American Wind Research and Training Center.
Students will learn more about the new summer program starting May 29. Upon successful completion of the courses, students will receive an Occupational Certificate in Wind Energy Technology.
Students in the program will learn wind turbine technology, turbine maintenance, tower safety, and wind economics. Course topics include studies in electricity, hydraulics, and mechanics, along with real-world experience with the center's 1.5- megawatt wind turbine.
During the forum, students will meet faculty, learn more about the admissions process and take a tour of the center. Refreshments will be provided following the presentation.
