Najera
Victoria Najera has been named Teenagers or Student of the Month, it was announced today by the Elk's Lodge.
Victoria, age 17, is the daughter of Martha Gonzalez of Tucumcari.. She is a senior at Tucumcari High School.
The teenager or student of the month program is sponsored by the Elks Lodge in an effort to bring recognition to outstanding youth in the area.
Winners are selected by a panel of youth in each participating high school within the jurisdiction of the sponsoring lodge.
Multiple achievement, citizenship, scholarship and leadership are the basis for selecting teenagers or students of the month.
Students are nominated monthly by classmates and teachers in their schools and then screened by a school student committee.
Nominations for subsequent months' teenager or student will be accepted after the first Monday of each month.
Victoria has been active in: Class trash pick-up and Tucumcari Animal Rescue. Scholastically she has an average grade of 3.64 and has participated in dual enrollment at Mesalands and advanced chemistry at the high school.
Upon graduation, Victoria hope to major in law at the University Of New Mexico.

Rilee Jo Nials will turn 8 years old on Sunday. Rilee is the daughter of Dustin and Relissa Nials. Her grandparents are Ray and Jo Ann Nials and Robin and Aleta Smith. Her great grandmother is Leona Smith. Rilee loves to ride her horse "Chief." She also likes to chase her younger brother, Payson, and younger sister, Lilly.
