Hallie Ferguson and Steven Blea would like to announce the birth of their daughter, Madison Jean. She was born March 16, 2012, in Clovis. She weighed 7 pounds, 93 ounces and was 20 inches long. Her grandparents are Cynthia and Richard Acker, Joseph and Veronica Blea of Tucumcari, and Richard and Vicki Ferguson of Estelline, Texas. Great grandparents are Gilbert and Stella Martinez of Tucumcari.

Karina Lena Banuelos celebrated her first birthday on March 24, with her parents Sandy Sena and Armando Banuelos her sisters Kathy,Katie, Mari and Sophia. She was also accompanied by her Nana Christine,Grandma Cecilia, Grandpa Bernie and Gina. Her aunts,uncles, cousins and very special friends made her first birthday a sweet accomplishment.

Mike Russell, Tucumcari High School history teacher, was named New Mexico's Outstanding Teacher of American History at the Daughters of the American Revolution State Conference in Albuquerque on March 31.
