Silent auction added to shrimp boil

Special to QCS

The Mesalands Community College Foundation will host its annual Shrimp Boil and “All That Jazz” fundraiser 6:30 p.m. April 13 at the Tucumcari Convention Center.

“This year we have made some positive changes to the Shrimp Boil fundraiser, in order to encourage the entire Tucumcari community and Quay County to assist us in raising money for scholarships for Mesalands students,” said Mildred Lovato, President of Mesalands Community College. “We also want to thank the community for their continued support of the College.”

This year a silent art auction from local artists, including Mark Lake and Doug Quarles, will take place during the event. An all-inclusive winter and summer vacation package to The Retreat in Angel Fire and to the Lodge at Sierra Blanco in Ruidoso will also be raffled during the event.

The fundraiser will include a social with a live jazz band, with dancing following the dinner and running through 10 p.m.

Tickets are $35 and are available at Bobs’ Budget Pharmacy and Mesalands Community College. Raffle tickets are $20 and may be purchased at the college prior to the event.
