Mike Pacsirta

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, 306 E. Aber St., Tucumcari.

Mike Pacsirta, 94, died at his residence in Tucumcari on Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006.

Mr. Pacsirta was born Sept. 24, 1912 in Sari, Hungary. He grew up as a farm boy working on the family farm until age 22 when he entered the military. After he was discharged, Mr. Pacsirta entered the police academy and graduated a year later.. He served in the uniformed police and then went to school to study criminology.

He married his wife, Mary, on Feb 23, 1943. He also became a detective.

They moved from Budapest to Germany where their daughter, Edith, was born in 1948. They lived in Germany for five years moving in 1950 to Tucumcari.

Mr. Pacsirta worked for and retired from the City of Tucumcari in 1973.

He loved playing golf and took great pride in his yard and gardening, especially growing grapes.

Surviving Mr. Pacsirta are his wife, Maria Patko Pacsirta of Tucumcari who he married on Sept. 25, 1982, one grandson, Michael Shults of Clarendon, Texas, one sister Julia Dobesch of Hungary, two nephews, Tom and Steve Forczek, also of Hungary. Also surviving are his brother-in-law, William Schults of Clarendon, step daughters Mary Ede, Elizabeth Szurgyi and Martha Tipton, and one step son, Alexander Patko.

He is preceded in death by his first wife Mary Pacsirta in 1980 by his parents Leonard and Surmen Borbela Pacsirta, by three brothers in Hungary, by his daughter, Edith, in 1998 and by one step son John Patko.

Iola S. Allender will officiate at the service.

Burial will be in the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.

Active pall bearers will be Wayne Huffman, Richard Randals, Ray McCausland, Jim Dow, William Shults and Alexander Patko. Honorary pall bearers will be Lee Mecham, Blevins McKenzie, Jimmie Randals, Tommy Morris and Quinten Bugg.

Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.

John James “Jack” Mansfield

Services: 7 p.m., today a rosary will be recited at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. At 10 a.m. on Thursday, a Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Anne’s.

John James "Jack" Mansfield, 86, died at his home in Tucumcari, on Wednesday, Nov 22, 2006. Mr. Mansfield was born Aug. 21, 1921 in Jersey City, N.J.

He was a member of the Catholic Church. He was retired from the Ford Motor Company. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the European Theater during WWII.

He was an avid supporter of the Rattlers and of the youth sports programs in Tucumcari, always being there to encourage the youth of Tucumcari to do their best.

Surviving Mr. Mansfield is his son, John J. Mansfield of Middletown, N.Y. along with other relatives including his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Mansfield, on June 29, 1984.

Burial will be in the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.

Richard L. Bull

Services: 6 p.m., Friday a memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Tucumcari. Grover Garrett, associate pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, will preside at the service.

Alvin Lee Ward Sr., 68, of Tucumcari died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis.
