    A Tucumcari man was jailed last week on a felony count of aggravated battery after he was accused of choking a woman to the point of unconsciousness. Jordan Salas, 32, was charged with aggravated battery (strangulation or suffocation) and battery of a household member. The aggravated battery charge is a third-degree felony that can lead up to three years in prison and a $5,000 fine.     The Tucumcari City Commission on Thursday approved actions to fix a construction mistake at the landfill that will cost the city no additional funds.     Two COVID-19 cases were reported in Quay County last week, indicating the disease remained at a low ebb in February. That compared to one case the previous week, three cases two weeks ago and six cases three weeks ago.
