    A Tucumcari man was fatally shot by a Quay County sheriff's deputy during a hostage situation June 19 in Tucumcari. Robert Roybal, 55, was killed by a single shot fired just after 4:50 a.m. A release from the New Mexico State Police said Roybal had spent more than an hour holding a knife to the throat of another man in the residence on the 1300 block of South Seventh Street.     The Fourth of July Fireworks display planned for Saturday at Ute Lake State Park will be held in honor of one of the Logan Bass Clubs own, Ellis 'Ray' Gorman. "Ray was a member of the Logan Bass Club and helped each year to set off the display," said Christina Liles, volunteer.     Local fire officials are asking residents to be cautious, exercise good judgment when setting off fireworks to prevent wild and structure fires. “We know everyone is excited about the Fourth of July, we just ask that people use some common sense,” said John Hinze, District 1 fire chief.
