BERNALILLO — The Grady boys' first trip to the state tournament ended a game short of the state final. Roberto Nores had three 3-pointers and 14 points as top-seeded Hondo beat 58-45 Thursday in a Class B semifinal. Kolby Valentine led Grady (18-11) with 14 points with Adam Lunsford and Jay Faust added eight points each. A Las Vegas man was arrested Monday morning after police said he threatened to kill a cashier while trying to rob the McStop Circle K store at 2624 S. First St. Larry Huddson 61, was arrested by Tucumcari Police Cpl. Clay Huffman, Patrolman Dustin Lopez, said Chief Jason Braziel. Braziel said Huddson entered the store to withdraw cash from an ATM. He said Huddson was unable to withdraw money and became agitated. Braziel said Huddson demanded money from the cashier, threatening their life if he did not comply.
