Trigg Memorial hospital are suspended, said Dr. David Arredondo, executive medical director for Presbyterian Medical Group. The Tucumcari Police Department and Crime Stoppers are seeking the public's help in solving a burglary at local storage unit complex. On Monday, officers responded to a report of a burglary at Bell Storage units in the 1500 block of West Route 66, said Jason Braziel, chief of police. A local man led Quay County Sheriff's deputies and Quay County Detention Center guards on a short foot chase after escaping custody Thursday. Jessie Garcia, 55, slipped one hand out of his handcuffs kicked the door of deputy Bill Anderson's patrol unit, striking Anderson and proceeded to run out of the Sally Port at QCDC, said Undersheriff Larry Cooksey. The Quay County Commission on Friday approved the formation of a committee to draft a new animal ordinance. The commission decision followed a tabling of a proposed animal control ordinance, which drew concerns from numerous residents. Continued reports of stolen vehicles have prompted local law enforcement officials to urge residents to lock their vehicles under all circumstances "We are asking that residents be vigil during the evening hours and please remove your keys from your vehicles at night," said Jason Braziel, Tucumcari police chief. County commissioners approved the use of a Taser at the Quay County Detention Center. A Taser is a tool which can be used to keep down confrontations and ensure the safety of the guards, said T.J. Rich, QCDC administrator. Rich said the use of a Taser is safer as far as all parties are concerned. With an outpouring of support from more than 50 residents the city commission approved the 2013 budget for the Tucumcari/Quay County Chamber of Commerce. Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the $35,500 budget for the chamber, which will come from Lodger's Tax funds.
