Tucumcari’s baseball team endured a tough district doubleheader Saturday, losing by scores of 16-4 and 10-4 to Sandia Prep. A Texas jury required less than an hour to deliver a guilty verdict against a Logan EMT and volunteer firefighter who groped a 17-year-old girl in an Amarillo hotel room in 2021. Brian Cox of Logan was convicted of indecent assault, a misdemeanor, by a Potter County jury on March 16, according to court records. Cox was 38 at the time of the offense. The Tucumcari City Commission postponed its work session and regular meeting last week after it failed to have a quorum. The work session was rescheduled to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 30, with the regular meeting at 6 p.m., both at city hall. The New Mexico Department of Agriculture will host a pesticide disposal event from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 5 at the Curry County Fairgrounds parking lot, located at Fair Grounds Road in Clovis. The Logan Municipal School board approved a calendar for the 2023-2024 school year that’s largely the same as in previous years but complies with an expanded-instruction bill expected to become law.
