Grants were approved Wednesday at a special session of the City Commission from the Water Trust Board for improvements of three water wells at five mile park. For infrastructure improvements and upgrades, Resolution 2012-43, the city was awarded $50,000 with the city budgeting its 10 percent share of $5,000 for upgrades to the east end of Tucumcari. Some 1,500 feet of bad sewer line will be repaired in this project....

Mesalands Community College is hosting its annual iron pour 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday through March 10. Thirty-five students from at least eight different states will be coming to participate in a one-week course to create sculptures and translate them into cast iron pieces of art.
