Eastbound Interstate 40 has been reopened east of San Jon according to New Mexico State Police dispatech. Tucumcari Fire Chief Mike Cherry said the fire started near mile marker 366 on the south side of the highway. He said four fire crews were called out to the scene.
Quay County fire departments have responded to a grass fire on U.S. Highway 54 about 15 miles northeast of Logan. The westbound highway out of Logan has been shut down due to a traffic accident. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
