Services: 2:30 p.m., Thursday, a memorial service will be conducted at the Dunn Memorial Chapel in Tucumcari. Jerry Dean Weaks, 68, died in Amarillo, Texas. on Sunday, March 25, 2007, following an extended illness. Jerry Weaks was born May 29, 1938 in Tulia, Texas. He had been a long time Tucumcari/Quay County resident. He was active in farming and ranching up until the time of his death. He had been a member of the B P O Elks Lodge 1172 of Tucumcari, Wheat Growers Association and the American Agriculture Movement. At one time, he ran for Quay County Sheriff. He also had been an airplane pilot and was co-owner of the Conchas Cotton Gin in Tucumcari. Surviving Mr. Weeks are his wife, Linda of Tucumcari, his son, Jess (Sherri) Weaks of Tucumcari, his daughter, Angela (George) Aragon of Albuquerque, two grandchildren and two great-grandsons. Also surviving are his brother, Richard Weaks of Joe's, Colo., his sister, Joyce (Frank) Jones of Lubbock Tx. He is preceded in death by a sister Billy Joe Daniels. Following his wishes, Jerry Dean Weaks has been cremated. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
