Naomi "Noni" Stadler

Services: 2 p.m..Saturday, a memorial service will be at the St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Tucumcari. Naomi "Noni" Stadler, 97, died in Lubbock, Texas, on Monday, May 28, 2007. She was born Dec 16, 1909 to Walter and Anna Barrett in Salt Lake City, Utah. As a child she and her family moved to Whittier, Calif., where she graduated from school and worked as a dental assistant. She met Clement Stadler and later married him March 1935. She was a Marine Corp officer's wife during WWII and the Korean Conflict living on the West Coast to the East Coast and moving back to Whittier, Calif. She worked and retired as a school cafeteria cook/manager in 1975. She then moved to Northern California where she helped her daughter and son in law in their bait and tackle shop in Clearlake, Calif. Then in 1983, she moved to the Tucumcari area and was an active member of the AARP Chapter, The National Federation for the Blind, The Liberty Extension Club and TOPS Center. She volunteered as a superintendent for the Quay County Fair and worked at the Tucumcari Historical Museum until her eyesight started to fail. Surviving Mrs. Stadler are her daughter, Pat (Wally) Wallace of Tucumcari, her son, John (Anne) Stadler of Flintstone, Ga, and two grandsons, Aaron and Eric, both of California, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, a brother and her husband. Gay Welborn will officiate at the service and there will be a gathering following the services at the Rural 2 Fire Department Community Building on Norton Road. In lieu of flowers , the family suggests donations be made to Helping Hands Hospice in Tucumcari or to St. Michael's Episcopal Church. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
