Services: Graveside services will be in Newbern, Tenn. Maxine Stanfield died on Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at home in Albuquerque. She was born in Dyer County, Tenn., on Jan. 2, 1923 to George and Gladys Smith. She married John Stanfield in Tennessee. They moved to New Mexico in 1964 and lived in Tucumcari from 1967 until 1999, and then moved back to Albuquerque. Mrs. Stanfield was active in Saint John's United Methodist Church, and Bear Canyon Senior Center. She was an avid golfer and loved to play bridge. She is survived by her sons; John (Jacquie) Stanfield of Denver, Colo.; George (Jenean) Stanfield a of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jamie Gagne, Jillian Stanfield, Chase Stanfield; and great-grandchildren, Claire Gagne, Hunter Stanfield. She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1972, and two brothers. Mrs. Stanfield was a 26-year breast cancer survivor, and the family suggests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Maxine Stanfield's name to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, Texas 75244. Arrangements are by French Mortuary, Inc. of Albuquerque.
