Tucumcari Rattler A.J. McElroy competes in the shot put during a track meet Thursday in Logan.

The Tucumcari Rattlers placed first and second during the district 6 AA track meet and are set to compete Friday and Saturday at state competition in Albuquerque.

The Lady Rattlers clinched the district championship with a 148-128 win over the Texico Lady Wolverines.

The Rattlers took second in district standings behind the Texico Wolverines.
