A slow start was about the only problem Portales had Monday night.

That was the only complaint coach Ruth Chavez had in an otherwise easy 25-22, 25-14, 25-18 sweep Monday night at Lovington.

“The first game was close because we had four service errors and a couple of other errors,” Chavez said, and noted from late in the first game on, “Jenna Wagner just had a big hitting night and took control for us.”

Portales (9-10, 2-0) will stay on the road this Thursday, with its second match of the season against Dexter.
