He was four points off a season scoring high. … The Wolverines, who got a big district win at home on Friday over Santa Rosa, struggled a bit early. “It seemed like we just didn’t have as much energy at the start as we had (Friday) night,” coach Richard Luscombe said. “But part of that was Tucumcari — they played harder than we did at the start.” Texico has another district back-to-back next weekend, playing at Santa Rosa on Friday and hosting Clayton on Saturday. … The Rattlers helped keep themselves within striking distance by making 13-of-17 free throws.
