Dora 53, Jal 49, OT

Recap: Sophomore point guard Jasi Roberts scored eight point in overtime, including 6-of-6 free throws, to lift the second-seeded Lady Coyotes to victory in the tournament semifinals.

Senior Kelli Merrick scored 27 points while Roberts finished with 17 for Dora, which plays at top-seeded Tatum in Friday’s championship game. Merrick scored all of Dora’s points in a 12-6 first-quarter surge, but the Lady Panthers pulled even 19-19 at halftime and the game stayed tight the rest of the way.

Jal took a four-point lead in the extra session before Roberts helped rally the Lady Coyotes from behind. Senior Kristine Vargas led the Lady Panthers with 19 points, while senior Erin Deck added 17.

Dora converted 22-of-27 free throws in the contest.
