BERNALILLO — Irvyng Urquijo and Leonard Arias scored 14 points each as third-seeded Springer beat Floyd 47-32 Wednesday in a Class 1A boys state playoff game.

Leon Mendoza led the 11th-seeded Broncos with 10 points.

Springer (25-3) outscored the Broncos 28-12 over the second and third quarters to turn the game into a rout.

“We had to play an almost perfect game to beat them,” Floyd coach Rafael Roybal said. “We didn’t execute our offense, especially in the second quarter. We got rattled a little bit.”

Senior point guard Hunter Terry, who sat out most of the second and third quarters in foul trouble, added eight points for the Broncos (13-15).
