BERNALILLO — Unbeaten and top-seeded Hagerman ended any thoughts of Fort Sumner pulling off an upset in a hurry.
The Bobcats poured in six 3-pointers in sprinting to a 22-8 lead in the first quarter and barely looked back en route to a 67-56 win Thursday in a Class 1A boys state semifinal contest.
Isaac Bejarano had seven 3-pointers and 31 points and Edward Montoya added four 3-pointers 17 points for the Bobcats (29-0).
Skylar McMath led the fourth-seeded Foxes with 17 points and Kolter West added 11.
The Foxes (17-10) pulled within 28-20 with 5:20 to go in the second quarter on West’s fastbreak basket, but Hagerman pulled way again.
Fort Sumner would not get closer than seven points the rest of the way.
