Myrtle D. Byrd Myrtle D. Byrd, 81, died Friday, April 23, 2004 in Amarillo at the Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospital. Myrtle Byrd was born Dec. 3, 1922 in Vinson, Okla. She had been a long time resident of Tucumcari. She had been the bookkeeper for Byrd Truck Repair in Tucumcari and attended the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter Deborah in 1969 and her husband Jack in 1999. She is survived by her son Richard Byrd (Marsha) of Tucumcari and one daughter Dorothy Reynolds of Tucumcari. In addition she is survived by her sister Helen L. Anderson and her brother Vernon R. Brown both of Tucumcari. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Services were Tuesday afternoon at the Dunn Memorial Chapel. Burial followed in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Glynn Burland Martin Glynn Burland Martin, 81, died April 25 at Plains Regional Medical in Clovis. Martin was born July 18, 1922 in Coalgate, Okla. Martin worked as a distributor for Tom’s and retired in 1984. Martin was a charter member of American Legion Post 19, a member of Elks Lodge 1172, and a member of the VFW in Tucumcari. Martin is survived by his wife Lorraine, two sisters-in-law, Ruby Case of Atoka, Okla. and Betty Bates of Nevada, Mo. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Dora Martin. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to Conchas Dam Ambulance Fund.
