According to Mesalands Community College President, Phillip O. Barry, the Mesalands Community College Foundation has received a donation of “over $10,000” from the Tucumcari branch of First National Bank of New Mexico. Barry said the gift is part of a pledge made to the community college five years earlier by the bank that it would make annual donations to the foundation based on a percentage of bank deposits made by Quay County customers. The college president said this donation is the last of five similar presentations that the bank has made totalling nearly $42,000.
