Bngaman coming to city

New Mexico Democratic U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman will be in Tucumcari on Tuesday, Oct. 12 to meet with Tucumcari school and city officials and visit with residents of the area plus getting a look at Quay County’s newest industry. According to his spokesperson, Maria Najera, Bingaman is looking forward to his visit in Tucumcari. She said will the Senator will begin his visit with Tucumcari Superintendent of School William Reents. He will then visit with city officials at the Tucumcari City Hall. That will be followed by a lunch at the Holiday Inn followed by a tour of the Cielo Wind Power offices at the Caprock Amphitheater just south of San Jon on the Caprock where 80 new wind turbines will be built over the next four months. The lunch will be hosted by the Quay County Democratic Party. “The Senator invites everyone to come out,” said Quay County Democratic Party Chairman Ron Wilmot. “He said after all he is senator for all of them.” Following his visit to Tucumcari and the Caprock area, Bingaman will travel to Clovis and Portalas.
