Chamber of Commerce representatives said today (Saturday) will be a big day on a number of fronts. According to Tucumcari/Quay County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Virginia Wright, the day will see Santa Claus arriving in Kvols’ Park at 4 p.m. to meet with the children of the area. Wright said a bit after Santa Claus’ visit with children, the annual Chamber Parade of Lights will take place. She said it will begin at 6 p.m. She said it will begin behind the chamber of commerce building on Heins street between the Tucumcari Municipal Swimming Pool and Tucumcari Middle School. The parade, this year made up of 19 different floats, will travel west to 11th Street. It will then go south to Washington and then east to Fifth Street and finally north to where the parade began. Wright said she is very excited about this year’s group of floats. “There are some really, really cool ones,” said the executive director. “We’re really excited about the participation this year.
