The Logan High School girls basketball team dropped a game to Melrose Tuesday Night in Texico. The Lady Longhorns lost 64-43 and Logan’s coach, Gary Miller, said he was disappointed. “Personally, I feel we could have progressed faster this season,” he said. “For some reason we haven’t been consistent, but every player does good things in each game.” The Lady Longhorns are 2-8 and Miller said at this stage of the season the best his team can do is play for pride. “We are not going to have a winning season,” he said. “We can finish strong though.” Miller said Melrose wore down the Lady Longhorns. “Melrose was a little bigger and more physical,” said Miller. “I think our girls were a little intimidated.” Miller said Logan went back and forth with Melrose through the first half but wore down from having to play catch-up so often. Raynee Rachor scored 22 points and Samantha Oglesby added ten. Miller had nothing but praise for Rachor. “She is our go-to player,” he said. “She takes the ball to the basket.”
