The following is a sampling of calls received by Tucumcari Police during the past several days. According to the reports: Feb. 28 • About 4 p.m. an employee of the Tucumcari office of the Child, Youth and Families Department called in reference to a car parked outside the CYFD building. The employee said a boy about 13 was allegedly beating two smaller children. Officers responded and advised, “There was no fight. Everything was 10-4.” Feb. 27 • About 9:30 p.m. a woman in the 600 block of North Second Street reported a possible prowler. An officer advised no one was in the area. • About 11 p.m. a woman in the 500 block of South Monroe Street called in reference to a neighbor’s loud music. Officers responded to the neighbor’s residence on five separate occasions during the night and issued a citation for “disturbance.” • About 12:30 a.m. a man near South First Street and Dehoney Avenue reported a young man came out of his yard and threw a beer can at his car. A special watch was requested. Feb. 26 • About 1:30 p.m. someone in the 800 block of South Fourth Street reported kids throwing rocks. An officer advised them to stop throwing rocks. Feb. 25 • About 11:30 p.m. an officer was flagged down by someone at the intersection of Park Street and East Route 66 Boulevard. The person claimed a vehicle had been hit. About an hour later, a man was arrested for aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident. Feb. 24 • About 9:30 p.m. a man in the 500 block of South Eighth Street reported a suspicious white van. An officer advised the van’s owner was inside the van waiting to see his ex-wife at the Chaparral Apartments. The man called police again and reported the ex-wife of the van owner was crying because she was “scared of her ex-husband.” The van owner was told to leave the premises and did so. • About 2:30 a.m. a man in the 500 block of East High Street reported having problems with a neighbor. He said his neighbor “had threatened to burn down his home and auto.”
