Naomi J. McGowen 70, died in the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque on April 3, 2005. McGowen was born on Feb. 17, 1935 in Mosquero. She was a member of the Logan United Methodist Church at Logan. She graduated from Mosquero High School and then from beauty school in Amarillo, Texas. She was a switch board operator for PBX. She was the ticket agent at the Greyhound Bus station in Tucumcari. She also had a dress shop for 9 years. Survivors include her husband Vernon Ray of Albuquerque; five daughters, Tanna Sue Franz (and husband Jon) of California, Reva Lee Wolf (Brian) of Albuquerque, Bonnie Jean McGowen, Linda McGowen (and Chris Hughes), and Nancy L. Freise (and Ray Christopher) all of Sayre, Okla.; three sons Michael Ray Smith (and Gary Rodgers) and Patrick J. Smith (Yvette) both of Albuquerque, and Ronnie Ray McGowen (and Belinda Jones) of Sayre; a sister Irene Payne (Jim) of Logan; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and her old cat Smokey Tom. Grave side funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the Mosquero Cemetery. Rev. Jeannie Williams, minister of the Logan United Methodist Church, will officiate the service.
