Benseslou “Ben” “Uncle Nebi” Sandoval, 68, died Saturday April 23, 2005 at Trigg Memorial Hospital in Tucumcari. Sandoval was born on April 18, 1937 in Anton Chico. He was a life time resident of Tucumcari. He was a member of the St. Anne’s Catholic Church of Tucumcari. He was retired from construction work. He was preceded in death by his brothers Jose Camilo in June 2004 and Jose Ermelindo in August 2004 and his parents. Survivors include his daughter Diana Valverde, step-daughter Georgia Rios, three brothers, Ben Sandoval (and wife Gloria ) of Tucumcari, Johnny Sandoval of Tucumcari and Michael Sandoval (Susan) of Tucumcari; six sisters Maria Gavina Aceves ( Raul) of Tucumcari, Margaret Martinez (Freddy) of Amarillo, Texas, JoAnn McCaughtry (Gary) all of Amarillo, Jenny Martinez (Chris) of Sante Fe, Mary Ann Montanez (Julio) of Lodi, Calif, and Amanda Martinez of Wisconsin; and his sister-in-law Martha Sandoval of Tucumcari. Rosary was recited in the St. Anne’s Catholic Church at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Mass of the Resurrection was at 10 a.m. today at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Burial will flows in the Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Pall bearers will be nephews Henry Martinez, Bengie Sandoval, Gerald Martinez, John Michael Sandoval, Chris Martinez, Freddy Martinez, Lorenzo Sandoval, Jesse Martinez, Jesus Acosta and Skyler Sandoval. Honorary pall bearer will be his niece and God-daughter Raquel McCaughtry.
