Jeff Ellis Jeff Ellis, 93, died Sunday, June 12, 2005, at Tucumcari’s Laurel Hills Health Care following an extended illness. He was born Oct. 17, 1911, in Altus, Okla. He was a retired Church of Christ minister, serving churches in the Tucumcari area for many years. He is survived by his son, Arthur Ellis (and wife Rachael) of Teague, Texas; his daughter Betty Conklin of Denton, Texas; two sisters, Annie Coward of Armena, Ark., and Nellie Hubson of Riverside, Calif.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Alvis Ellis and by his daughter Virginia. Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Friday at Dunn Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow in the family plot at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Lawrence Moralez Lawrence “Moe” Moralez, 42, of Clovis, died Saturday, June 11, 2005, at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. He was born on Aug. 10, 1962, in Tucumcari, to Santiago and Damacia Moralez. He married Cynthia Yzaguirre on June 25, 2003, in Clovis. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and a nephew. Survivors include his wife; a son, Joshua Moralez; four daughters, Andie Lee Moralez, Desiree Moralez, Diedra Moralez, and Amber Ross; two grandsons, Joshua K. and Christopher Moralez; his mother, Lou Gallegos; six sisters, Helen Gallegos, Clara Vigil, Sylvia Lira, Priscilla Garcia, Annabel Trujillo, and Linda Moralez; three brothers, Leroy Gallegos, Andrew Gallegos, and Martin Gallegos; numerous other family. A rosary is scheduled at 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis. Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Clovis. Father Sotero Sena will officiate the services. Pallbearers are Vincent Chavez, Chris Padilla, Gary Tenorio, Mel Garcia, Jimmy Baca, Raymond Lopez, and Frank Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers are Alfonso Gallegos, Juan Lorenzo Ford, Chad Moralez, Clem Vigil Jr., Michael Garcia, Corey Moralez, Joe Trujillo. Arrangements are by Steed-Todd Funeral Home of Clovis.
