Eva Romero turned 100 on Wednesday and will celebrate her birthday Sunday with family and friends in Englewood, Colo., according to her daughter Mary Rivera of Tucumcari. Romero was born in Monte Vista. Romero had 11 children. Her grandson, James Padilla, lives in Tucumcari and her great-grandson Mark Padilla and her great-grandaughter Christine Rivera also live in Tucumcari. Romero also has a niece, Tina Trujillo of Tucumcari. Robert Park Strong was born May 11 in Clovis. He weighed 8 pounds, 9 ounces and was 21 inches long at birth. His parents are Stan and Clair Strong of Tucumcari. His brother is Jaegar and his sisters are Heidi and Ann Marie. His grandparents are Robert and Gay Strong of Portales and Julie Smelser of Las Cruces and Worth and Kathy Smelser of Cuba, N.M. His great grandmother is Jane Strong of Tucumcari. Liliana Rey will turn 3 on Sunday. She is the daughter of James and Rosita Rey of Albuqerque and the granddaughter of Joe and Clara Rey of Tucumcari and Jose Enriquez and Teresa Quinones of Albuquerque. Liliana celebrated her birthday with family and friends on June 12 in Tucumcari. Angel and Dolores Quintana of Tucumcari have announced the engagement and approaching wedding of their daughter Irene Quintana to Gabriel Triviz of Albuquerque. He is the son of Rudy Triviz and Cecilia Barnes of California. The couple are full-time students at the University of New Mexico. They will exchange vows July 23 at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Albuquerque. Reception and dance will follow. The couple plan to reside in Albuquerque. Jim and Marlene Haller will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with family members on June 25 at the Holiday Inn of Tucumcari. They were married June 26, 1955, in Raton.
