Saturday — The Tucumcari Historical Research Institute will have a field trip to Cimarron for its members. They will leave the Tucumcari Historical Museum at 8 a.m. or meet in Cimarron. Monday — The New Mexico State Library rural bookmobile will arrive at Quay at 8:45 a.m. It will arrive at the McAlister Post Office at 9:50 a.m., the House Senior Citizens Center at 10:40 a.m. and at the Forrest Extension Club at 1 p.m. Monday — Canadian River Soil and Water Conservation District meets at 7 p.m. in the conference room of the Natural Resource Conservation Service, 706 S. 1st St. Call 461-3612 ext. 3 for information. Monday through Aug 10 — The Quay County ASAP Coalition wil be offering violin lessons to any interested youth between the ages of 10 to 18 every Monday and Wednesday from 11 a.m. to noon at 109 E. Ranger Ronald Carter will show the fundamentals of boating from 9 to 10 a.m. at Conchas Lake State Park. Wednesday — Eastern New Mexico Rural Water Authority will meet at Melrose High School at 10 a.m. July 26 — The Tucumcari Planning Commission will meet at city hall at 5:15 p.m. July 28 — The Tucumcari Housing Authority will meet at city hall at 5 p.m. July 28 — The Tucumcari City Commission will meet at city hall at 6 p.m.. Aug. 1 - 2 — AARP 55 Alive driver safety program runs from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Hammond Hall, 423 S. 5th St. Reserve space between July 15 and 30 at 471-3976. Cost is $10 per student. Aug. 20 — Conchas Lake Park, Mary Whitmore, president of the Native Plant Society, will give a talk and take the group on a native plant walk and workshop.
