Julian Cordova Services: 10 a.m. Monday at San Antonio Catholic Church in Logan. Julian Jose Cordova, 84, of Logan, died Friday, July 29, 2005, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Amarillo. He was born on Jan. 10, 1921, in Logan. He was a member of the San Antonio Catholic Church, the Society de Padre Nuestro Senor in Logan, and the Guadalupe G. Ramirez, American Legion Post 77 in Logan. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Rebecca Cordova; two brothers; and three sisters. Survivors include his wife, Adela Cordova of Logan; five sons, Julian Cordova (and wife, Stella) of Logan, Tommy Cordova (Christine) of Albuquerque, Wilford Cordova (Betsy) of Amarillo, Bobby Cordova (JoAnne) of Big Springs, Texas, and Leo Cordova (Terri) of Amarillo; two daughters, Ida Martinez (Joe) of Clovis and Arlin Cordova of Logan; a sister, Florenda Ramirez of Logan; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. A rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday at San Antonio Catholic Church in Logan. Burial will be at Logan Cemetery. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Manuel Maciel Services: 10 a.m. (CDT) today at the First Baptist Church in Hennessey, Okla. Manuel “Manny” Maciel, 62, of Hennessey, Okla., died Monday, July 25, 2005, at Via Christi Regional Medical Center in Wichita, Kan. He was born on Dec. 27, 1942, in Big Spring, Texas, to Jose Lopez and Vicenta Moncada Maciel. He graduated from Tucumcari High School. He received a bachelor of arts degree from Oklahoma Baptist University, a master’s degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and an administrative certification from Eastern New Mexico University. He married Judy Ann Meier on Dec. 2, 1971, in El Paso, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter, Belinda Maciel. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Matthew Timothy Maciel of Mission, Kan., Mark Christopher Maciel of Hennessey, Okla., and Michael (and wife, Gina) of Minneapolis, Minn.; a daughter, Billye Marguerite Meade (Devin) of Moore, Okla.; his mother of Douglas, Alaska; a brother, Michael Maciel of College Station, Texas; two sisters, Stella Aragon (Norbert) of Las Cruces and Lilli Walsh of Douglas, Alaska; five grandchildren, Rhyan, Rheagan, and Kellen of Minneapolis, Minn., Delaney and Nathaniel Meade of Moore, Okla. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery in Okeene, Okla. Terry Bunch will officiate the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Foundation. Arrangements are by Cordry-Gritz Funeral Home of Hennessey, Okla.
