8/6 Police Blotter

The following is a sampling of calls received by the Tucumcari police during the past several days.
According to the reports:
Tuesday
• At 1:23 a.m. a prowler was reported on South Monroe. The caller told police she saw the swatch of a white shirt and heard a chain link fence moving. Police found no suspects.
• At 8:25 a.m. dispatch received an abandoned 911 call. Police arrived at the East Smith Street location to find all was OK, occupants had been cleaning their telephone.
• At 5:06 p.m. a female called to report stolen items recovered on East McGee. The female told police a male stole items from a dollar store and threw them under her vehicle. No arrests were made.
• At 10:35 p.m. police were requested to the emergency room for report of a suspicious laceration. Police arrived to find a male who said he cut himself while repairing a China hutch.
• At 11:35 p.m. police approached a stopped vehicle and ended up arresting the driver for selling alcohol to a minor. The minor was also arrested for allowing himself to be served alcohol. Police released minor to the custody of his mother.
Wednesday
• At 10:12 a.m. a male called to report harassment on East Main. He told police on the scene vulgar language had been used towards him.
• At 2:17 p.m. a suspicious subject was reported at a bank. When police arrived the subject threw an item and fled. The item was determined to be narcotics and logged into evidence. Subject was not apprehended.
• At 4:38 p.m. a suspect tried to pass a fraudulent check at a local bank. No arrests were made when police arrived.
• At 5:03 p.m. a female called in a neighbor dispute on South Fourth Street. The two females had resolved their differences by the time police arrived.
• At 8:18 p.m. a motel reported a theft; owner refused to press charges.
• At 9:01 p.m. a suspicious vehicle was reported on East McGee. Police arrived and determined it was tourists taking evening photos.
• At 10:56 p.m. a male reported a bag he left behind in motel. Police said the motel was contacted several times and the bag never found.
Thursday
• At 9:44 a.m. a mal reported a damaged fence on South Fifth Street. Police could find no cause for the damage.
• At 10:43 a.m. a male called to report a burglary at a neighborhood retailer. Police arrived to find an outside soda machine broken into and the money missing.
