Today — This is the last day the Quay County ASAP Coalition will be offering violin lessons to any interested youth between the ages of 10 and 18 from 11 a.m. to noon at 109 E. Main St. Must have your own violin. Call 461-4922 for more information.
Today — The Tucumcari Chapter of the DAR will meet at 2202 S. 3rd St. at 6 p.m.
Today — The Tucumcari Pioneer Center is hosting a town hall meeting to discuss Medicare Prescription Drug Part D coverage at 523 S 3rd St. at 7 p.m.
Today — Altrusa will hold its monthly board meeting at noon at Bambinos restaurant. Call Glenda Reid at 461-2244.
Today and Thursday — Tucumcari Middle School registration for grades 6-8 will be held at the Tucumcari Middle School gym from 1-6 p.m. Call 461-2310 for more information.
Today and Friday — “La Voz” Hispanic radio program airs on KTNM 1400 AM radio on Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 to 10 p.m.
Friday — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Albuquerque District invites the public to attend a town hall meeting regarding the future of the south side recreation area at Conchas Dam. The meeting concerning the lodge, ramp, campground, and convenience store will be held in the U.S. Corps of Engineers Conchas Dam administration building located at the north end of Conchas Dam from 4 to 6 p.m.
Friday — Tucumcari Public Schools Substitute Teacher Certification mandatory workshop will be held in the administration office multi-purpose room at 9 a.m.
Tuesday — The Quay County Republican Party will hold its regular meeting at 6 p.m. at Dean’s restaurant. Dutch treat dinner starts at 5:45 p.m.
Tuesday — ACI Issues Roundtable, noon at the Holiday Inn, 461-1694. Preregistration required.

Aug. 20 — At Conchas Lake Park, Mary Whitmore, president of the Native Plant Society, will give a talk and take the group on a native plant walk and workshop. Meet at the visitor center from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
