Monday — U.S. Representative Tom Udall will host a town hall meeting from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Tucumcari Senior Center, 523 S. Third St., to discuss Social Security. Free and open to the public. Monday — Logan Board of Education will hold an open meeting beginning at 6 p.m. in the library to interview applicants for school board member. Monday and Tuesday — The San Jon Board of Education will conduct a board retreat at the Adobe Lodge in Conchas Dam beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday — Senator Diminichi’s staff will be at Tucumcari/Quay County Chamber of Commerce office from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays ongoing — Quay-Z Quilters meet on Tuesdays from 2-8 p.m. at Fire Station #2 on Rt. 278 (Norton Road). Second Tuesdays ongoing — The Quay County Republican Party meets at Dean’s Restaurant the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. Dutch treat dinner starts at 5:45 p.m. Fourth Tuesdays ongoing — Democratic Women are meeting the 4th Tuesday of each month at noon at Bambinos. Wednesdays and Fridays ongoing — “La Voz” Hispanic radio program airs on KTNM 1400 AM radio on Wednesdays and Fridays from 7 to 10 p.m. Beginning Friday — Thank Goodness It’s Friday (TGIF) will be ongoing on the Fridays when there is no school in Tucumcari and when there is no scheduled holiday. The program for students in Kindergarten through fifth grade will be held at the First Christian Church at 1701 South 4th St. from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration is on Saturdays from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Copies of the proposed ordinance are available for public inspection during the city clerk’s regular business hours. Sept. 8 — The Lawyer Referral for the Elderly Program (LREP) is offering a free legal workshop at the Pioneer Senior Center, 523 S.
