The San Jon Coyotes hosted their annual middle school basketball tournament Thursday through Saturday in the Coyote gymnasiums. Participants of the boys and girls division were San Jon, Tucumcari seventh and eighth graders, Logan, Floyd and Clovis Christian. The girls champions were the Floyd Broncos, with the Logan Longhorns as runners up and third place for the eighth grade Lady Rattlers. In the boys bracket, the Tucumcari Rattlers dominated, bringing home the championship for the eighth graders and runners up for the seventh graders while Floyd took home the third place trophy.
