The Tucumcari Lady Rattlers were in Albuquerque to play in the Sandia Prep Invitational last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. In the first round of the invite, the Lady Rattlers were defeated by Rehoboth, unable to recover from a 15-1 first quarter score. The final numbers had the Lady Ratters losing 54-36 to Rehoboth. On Friday, the Lady Rattler played the Lady Bobcats of McCurdy. Despite a gallant effort, the Lady Rattlers were again defeated, this time by McCurdy’s 49 to the Lady Rattlers’ 33. In their final game of the tourney the Lady Rattlers played the Santa Fe Prep Griffins. The Lady Rattlers were able to keep the game close but were outlasted by the Griffins by a score of 48-42. The Lady Rattlers will be in action again on Friday night in a district match with the Santa Rosa Lions in the “Snake Pit.” Action begins at 4 p.m. with the junior varsity. _____ Next up for Rattlers and Lady Rattlers basketball What: Tucumcari vs. Santa Rosa in a district match.
