Kathi Elofson Services: 2 p.m. on Sunday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness (tentative) Kathi Elofson, 48, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, in Tucumcari. She was born Aug. 27, 1957, in Phoenix. She had been an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Tucumcari where she had been a homemaker who was active in her husband’s business of Tucumcari Janitorial Services. She is survived by her husband, Jeff Elofson of Tucumcari; one son, Jordan Elofson of Carlsbad; two daughters, Kendell Elofson of Portales and Kristen Elofson of Denver; two brothers, Dan Koleski of Las Vegas, N.M., and Gary Koleski of Eugene, Ore.; her uncle Tony Kolesky of Phoenix, who raised her after her parents were killed; numerous nieces and nephews.. Following her wishes, she has been cremated. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Lela Swinney Purviance Services: Noon on Tuesday at Dunn Chapel in Tucumcari. Lela Lane Swinney Purviance, 83, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, in Albuquerque. She was born Feb. 7, 1922, in Clovis. She was a longtime member of Hoffmantown Church in Albuquerque. Her family said she was a woman of noble character and her sweet, gentle spirit was committed to her faith and her family. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 52 years, Wilson Swinney, who was the golf professional in Tucumcari from l962 to l969, and her second husband of 10 years, Farris Purviance Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Kaye Swinney Poirier (and husband, Ron) and Joyce Swinney Draper (William Hedger) of Albuquerque; her son Wayne Swinney (Mary) of San Antonio; eight grandchildren, Steve Poirier (Sandra) of Albuquerque, Chris Poirier (Karen) and Doug Poirier (Lona) of Kingsport, Tenn., Austin Draper of Albuquerque, Pamela Swinney Elliott (James) of Manchester, Tenn., Kirk Swinney (Khristi) and Jodi Hernandez (Hector) of San Antonio, Jeff Parchman (Carri) of Little Elm, Texas; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Lois Brasher (Orville) of Amarillo; one brother, the Rev. Leonard Lane of Houston; two nieces and three nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made in memory of Lela Swinney Purviance to the International Mission Board, SBC, Development Dept., P.O. Box 6767, Richmond, VA 23230, with the specification of Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
