The following is a sample of calls received by the Tucumcari police during the last few days. According to the reports: Friday • At 5:38 p.m., a female reported a suspicious subject at a gas station. There was a woman reported to be asking people for money and making statements about al-Qaida. An officer told the woman to leave and not return. Saturday • At 7:29 a.m., a female reported a problem with a juvenile at Second Street. The woman couldn’t get her daughter to come inside the house. An officer arrived, and the daughter went inside. • At 4:29 p.m., a female reported a possible DWI at a gas station. The report resulted in the arrest of a 49-year-old man for DWI, suspended/revoked license, no insurance, no registration, tampering and non-current license plate. • At 8:37 p.m., a female reported a disturbance at Main Street. The caller reported that several subjects were possibly drunk and had built a campfire in a back yard. An officer found a campfire with adults and children, and the adults made sure the fire was put out properly. Sunday • At 9:05 a.m., a male requested a welfare check at a hotel. There was a male acting strangely and hitting a tree. An officer talked to the man and said he was fine. The man said he was looking for McDonald’s. • At 11:20 a.m., a welfare check was requested on Second Street. A woman’s medical alarm went off. The officer found the woman in church and not in danger. • At 5:43 p.m., a male reported vandalism on Smith Street. A bush was reported stolen from outside the caller’s home. • At 6:10 p.m., a female reported a gas skip on First Street. A red truck was reported to have left the station and was heading either to Clovis or Albuquerque. The state police were notified. • At 8:27 p.m., a female reported a missing juvenile at Third Street. The caller’s granddaughter had left nearly 12 hours ago and had not returned. An officer found the girl safe. • At 11 p.m., a male reported an engine running at a restaurant. The driver was told to move or turn the engine off. Monday • At 11:48 a.m., a female reported a breaking and entering at Choctaw Avenue. The woman said her son had a stereo and video games stolen from his house in the last two weeks. • At 3:27 p.m., a female reported a suspicious subject at a business. The man was hitting buildings with a wire. Officers told the man to leave. • At 7:18 p.m., a female reported a dog at large on South Fifth Street. The caller said a dog chased her home and she feared an attack. An officer could not find the dog. Tuesday • At 1:04 a.m., a male reported breaking and entering on Route 66. The man said he saw flashlights in a building. The air conditioning unit was removed from the window, but officers couldn’t determine if anybody entered the building. • At 1:11 a.m., a male reported loud music at Third Street. An officer told the person to keep it down. • At 2:38 a.m., a female reported an unwanted subject at a convenience store. The man was reported to be digging through the trash for 30 minutes. An officer told the man to leave.
