Summer reading program starts Monday Registration for the 2006 summer reading program, titled “Lasting Impressions,” will begin Monday at the Tucumcari Public Library. The program is for children ages two-and-a-half through eighth grade. The program will give prizes and coupons to young people to encourage reading in the summer months. For information, call 461-0295 or visit the library at 602 S. Second Street. Extension club holding fund-raiser The Tabosa Quay Extension Club is having its annual fundraiser Friday and Saturday. A recycle sale is being organized and will be open to all buyers starting 8 a.m. Friday at 307 E. High Street. The club gave dictionaries to fourth-graders in Quay County this year. The group sets aside funds for scholarships and other needs of 4-H clubs and other family-related activities. Vacation bible school planned next week The Center Street United Methodist Church is holding a vacation bible school Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to noon each day.
