The following is a sample of calls received by the Tucumcari Police Department in the last few days: Tuesday • At 11:05 a.m., a female on East Center Street called to say that she had been bitten by her cat and that she wanted it picked up by animal control. An officer noted that the cat will be quarantined at the kennel. • At 8:33 p.m., a female called to report an accident at a restaurant. One vehicle pulled out and lightly bumped another vehicle pulling into the parking lot. No damage was found. • At 8:33 p.m., a male requested a special watch on business on First Street because someone has been continuously turning off electricity by the main switch at the breaker. Wednesday • At 4:59 p.m., a female from a motel called to report that there had been illegal dumping in the dumpster. Owners asked police to contact subjects and have them remove their trash. • At 7:04 p.m., a female reported that there had been damage to property at Rock Island. An officer said a man was using a weed eater and that as it was passing a vehicle a rock flew up and hit the windshield of the vehicle. • At 9:14 p.m., a female reported a suspicious subject in the back yard on Adams. Officers reported that that no one was in the area. • At 9:18 p.m., a male reported problems with a neighbor. The caller reported a trailer full of debris parked on his property. Officers spoke with the neighbors and told them the trailer was to be removed. • At 9:28 p.m., a female called to report that a door was open at McGee. Officers went to the residence and stated that nothing appeared to be missing and re-secured the door. Thursday • At 9:59 a.m., a female reported vandalism to a vehicle on College. Officer advised that there was a dent to the vehicle. • At 4:15 a.m., a security alarm sounded, reporting a fire. The building was secure. • At 1:46 a.m., a male reported that there had been a burglary on Elm Street. Officers reported that a .25 caliber handgun was stolen.
